Immunizations and Side Effects

I have some important information to share in regards to immunizations. Since Kristen is up for her last round this summer – better late than never I guess, I did some research into the current issues with mercury in immunizations and the fact than many believe it is the cause of autism as well as other nervous system disorders. They continue to argue this as our autisic population grows at an alarming rate not to mention ADD and ADHD.

When it is time for your child or children to be immunized, as you are making the appointment with your doctor, let them know you want to see the bottle and packaging to ensure it is Thimerosal free and to prepare the dose when you get there. Will they be irritated by your request? Probably. Will they tell you there is no proof it’s linked to autism? Probably. Who cares! It’s not their child. Make sure you see the packaging and that they do not draw it until you arrive.

Thimerosal is a preservative used so they can bottle vaccines in larger amounts (less cost for them) and get several doses out of one bottle. When the bottle is opened, bacteria gets in. The preservative, Thimerosal, helps kill the bacteria. At the cost of cardiovascular disease, autism, seizures, mental retardation, hyperactivity, dyslexia, ADD, and a host of other nervous system conditions, you want to be sure your child is getting their vaccine from a one dose bottle!

A New Proposed Preamble to the Constitution

There has been an email circulating that State Representative Mitchell Aye from GA. Is credited with the original of what follows. I have adjusted it to be less crude and critical while still getting the point across.

"We the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior, and secure the blessings of debt-free liberty to ourselves and our great-great-great-grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish some common sense guidelines for life in the USA.

We hold these truths to be self evident: that a whole lot of people are confused by the Bill of Rights and are slow to receive reality, requires this Bill of NON-Rights."

ARTICLE I:You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but No one is guaranteeing anything.

ARTICLE II:You do not have the right to never be offended. This country was founded on freedom which means freedom for everyone -- not just you! If you are offended, choose not to be. If you don’t like what is being said, counter the statement with your opinion. The world is full of people with opinions. While those people may have a right to speak, you don’t have to listen.

ARTICLE III:You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you run with scissors and you fall and stab yourself, learn to be more careful. Don’t blame the company that made the scissors.

ARTICLE IV:You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need. Laziness is not a job description.

ARTICLE V:You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice. But judging by the way public housing and other government programs have been managed; we don't want a government managed heath care system.

ARTICLE VI:You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you pay. Your rights end where my toes begin.

ARTICLE VII:You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen color TV ora life of leisure.

ARTICLE VIII:You do not have the right to a job as mentioned above. All of us sure want you to have ajob, and will gladly help you along in hard times. But we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself productive. Pick a job, any job and do it well.

ARTICLE IX:You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness, which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of micromanaging laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.

ARTICLE X:This is an English speaking country. While we all welcome the legal immigrant seeking a better life, please learn our language.

ARTICLE XI:You do not have the right to change our country's history or heritage. This country was founded on a deep faith in THE Almighty God. And yet, you are given the freedom to believe in any religion, any faith, or no faith at all; with no fear of persecution. The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is heartfelt and deep. It is part of our heritage and history and we proudly display it whenever we see it appropriate to honor the Master of our Universe.

It’s Not Fair

(This was sent to me in an email. I took some creative authorship with this story. But the meaning remains as does the importance of having Jesus in your life.)

One day a while back, a man, his heart heavy with grief, was walking in the woods. As he thought about his life, he knew many things were not right. He thought about those who had lied about him. His thoughts turned to those who had stolen his things and cheated him. He remembered family that had passed on. Then, his mind turned to the illness he had that no one could cure. His very soul was filled with anger, resentment, frustration, and unforgiveness.

As he stood searching for answers, feeling as though he had been wronged, he knelt at the base of an old oak tree to seek the One he knew would always be there.

With tears in his eyes, the man prayed: "Lord, You have done wonderful things for me in this life. You have told me to do many things for You, and I obeyed. Today, You have told me to forgive. I am sad, Lord. I cannot forgive. I don't know how. It's not fair.

I didn't deserve the wrongs that were done to me. Why should I have to forgive. Your way is perfect, Lord. But I, imperfect as I am, do not know how to forgive. My anger is deep, Lord and I fear I may not hear You. But I pray, show me the way... teach me to forgive."

As the man knelt there in the quiet shade of that old oak tree, he felt something on his shoulder. He opened his eyes to see something red on his shirt. He could not see from where it fell until he looked to where the oak tree had been. Now he saw a large square piece of wood in the ground where the oak once stood.

As the man raised his head he saw two feet held to the wood with a large spike through the center. He raised his head even more, holding back a swell of tears as he saw a man hanging on a cross. He knew this vision was of Jesus as he viewed the spikes in His hands, a gash in His side, a torn and battered body, and deep thorns sunk into His head.

Alas, the man witnessed the suffering and pain on the face of Jesus. Their eyes met, the man could not hold back the tears as his heart knew all too well the vision he witnessed before him.

The man heard in his heart and mind many questions:
Have you ever told a lie?
Have you ever been given too much change and kept it?
Have you ever taken something that wasn't yours?
Have you ever cursed, using my Father's name in vain?

The questions lingered on as the man hung his head knowing that with each question asked, he knew of his guilt with each. The man's tears flowed freely from his swollen eyes.

As the man felt the familiar feeling on his shoulder once again, he looked up at the face of Jesus. There was a look of love the man had never seen or known before as his eyes met those of the Messiah. As the look Messaiah pierced the man's soul he again heard in his heart and mind, as clear as the spoken word:

"I didn't deserve this either. But I forgive you."

When Jesus died on the cross, he was thinking of you! If we received what was fair or what we deserved, we would all be going to hell. But Jesus chose to die for our sins once, for all. He was the spotless lamb that took the sin of the world then, now and in the future, upon Himself.

I guess when I think about how rough things are or how I was wronged, cheated or robbed. I think about how Jesus gave up His throne to come to earth and die a death he did not deserve. He did not do it out of obligation but out of love for me and for you.

John 3:16-17 says, For God so loved the world that He GAVE His one and only son. That whoever believes in Him would not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His son into the world to condemn it But that THROUGH Him the world might be saved.

Accepting what Jesus did for you and allowing yourself to receive His love and forgiveness will set a place for you in heaven. But it will also help you to begin to forgive the wrongs done against you. Will you still feel the hurt from the wrongs? Probably. Will you remember the wrongs? Probably. But you can choose to forgive and the hurt and the memory becomes less significant and less of a burden.

Unique Tips

I personally have not checked wach one of these. Some There's a few I will never test since I don't wear pantyhose, skirts or shave my legs... Nonetheless, you can check these out if you encounter these issues and comment back if it does or does not work.

Reheat Pizza
Heat up leftover pizza in a non-stick skillet on top of the stove, set heat to med-low and heat till warm. This keeps the crust crispy. No soggy micro pizza.

Baby Powder at the Beach
Keep a small bottle of baby powder in your beach bag. When ready to leave the beach sprinkle yourself and kids with the powder and the sand will slide right off your skin.

Broken Glass
Use a dry cotton ball to pick up little broken glass pieces of glass- the fibers catch ones you can't see!

Easy Deviled Eggs
Put cooked egg yolks in a zip lock bag. Seal, mash till they are all broken up. Add remainder of ingredients, reseal, keep mashing it up mixing thoroughly, cut the tip of the baggy, squeeze mixture into egg. Just throw bag away when done easy clean up.

Get Extra Frosting
When you buy a container of cake frosting from the store, whip it with your mixer for a few minutes. You can double it in size. You get to frost more cake/cupcakes with the same amount. You also eat less sugar/calories per serving.

Reheating biscuits, pancakes or muffins
To warm biscuits, pancakes, or muffins that were refrigerated, place them in a microwave with a cup of water. The increased moisture will keep the food moist and help it reheat faster.

Newspaper Stops Weeds
Start putting in your plants; work the nutrients in your soil. Wet newspapers put layers around the plants overlapping as you go cover with mulch and forget about weeds. Weeds will get through some gardening plastic they will not get through wet newspapers.

No More Mosquitoes
Place a dryer sheet in your pocket. It will keep the mosquitoes away.

Squirrel Away!
To keep squirrels from eating your plants sprinkle your plants with cayenne pepper. The cayenne pepper doesn't hurt the plant and the squirrels won't come near it.

Vacuum Hard to Reach Spots
To get something out of a heat register or under the fridge add an empty paper towel roll or empty gif wrap roll to your vacuum. It can be bent or flattened to get in narrow openings.

Reducing Static Cling
Pin a small safety pin to the seam of your slip and you will not have a clingy skirt or dress. Same thing works with slacks that cling when wearing panty hose. Place pin in seam of slacks and - voila - static is gone.

Measuring Cup Help
Before you pour sticky substances into a measuring cup, fill it with hot water. Dump out the hot water, but don't dry the cup. Next, add your ingredient, such as peanut butter, and watch how easily it comes right out.

Foggy Windshields
If you hate foggy windshield buy a chalkboard eraser and keep it in the glove box of your car. When the windows fog, rub with the eraser! Works better than a cloth! You can also try turning on your AC in the car with the heater and it should clear out quickly as well.

Reopening Sealed Envelopes
If you seal an envelope and then realize you forgot to include something inside, just place your sealed envelope in the freezer for an hour or two. Voila! It unseals easily.

Conditioner to Shave Your Legs Ladies
Use your hair conditioner to shave your legs. It's a lot cheaper than shaving cream and leaves your legs really smooth. It's also a great way to use up the conditioner you bought but didn't like when you tried it in your hair.

Goodbye Fruit Flies
To get rid of pesky fruit flies, take a small glass fill it 1/2" with Apple Cider Vinegar and 2 drops of dishwashing liquid, mix well. You will find those flies drawn to the cup and gone forever!

Get Rid of Ants
Put small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it "home," & can't digest it so it kills them. It may take a week or so, esp. if it rains, but it works & you don't have the worry about pets or small children being harmed!

Simple Truths

The following link is a truely inspirational story. If everyone thought like the boy in this video, image how much different the world would be. Even more, how different you would be.

When I saw this I was reminded of what Paul wrote in Phillipians 2:3-4, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others."

The example in the video linked below is an example of this boy looking to the interests of others. The idea came from someone else. But the inspiration for the project came from the heart of this boy. Enjoy the video, Simple Truths.

Apropos Cartoon to the times

This is a little but powerful cartoon. It is important that we not forget what happened in Europe late 40's because those who disregard or choose to forget history are destined to repeat it. Now, more than ever, with Iran, among others, claiming the Holocaust to be "a myth," it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets that the Holocaust did in fact happen.
